WASHINGTON — More than two years after Facebook reached a $725 million settlement to pay millions of users for selling their personal information , those payouts are finally starting and we're learning how much you can expect to get.
The company handling the settlement recently confirmed that payments have started and distribution will continue for the next couple months.
According to a Sept. 5 court filing, the average payment amount for Facebook users who signed up for the class action settlement and were approved is approximately $29.43.
The court documents stated the maximum payout is $38.26 and the minimum amount is $4.89.
