Milford Fair: small, unique, homegrown, successful. These are just a few words to describe this fair which has now been running annually except for covid years, for several decades.
Its uniqueness begins with the fairgrounds themselves, a few acres, no livestock pens, no midway, but instead, a children’s sandpit playground, a baseball diamond and a theatre with community hall attached (a former church.) Throw up a few tents for kiosks and an open platform and put on a whole swath of old-fashioned events, like nail driving, log sawing, sack races, and a grand opening parade, led by the 8 Wing Trenton Pipes and Drums, who added a warm-up performance in front of the platform.
