AKRON, Ohio — Akron police say a 21-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday afternoon after returning to a home he was legally ordered to stay away from.

According to investigators, officers responded to the 1200 block of Sylvan Avenue around 1:04 p.m. on Sept. 13 for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Earlier that day, at approximately 12:35 p.m., Akron police officers and Summit County Sheriff’s deputies served the man with a protection order, which prohibited him from being on the property or near a 57-year-old woman who lived there with her 25-year-old son. Police say he was informed of the order and escorted away from the residence.
