Kean University is getting ready to spend $10 million in state funding to help plan a massive proposed merger with New Jersey City University .

New Jersey’s $58.8 billion state budget , signed by Gov. Phil Murphy in June, included $10 million for legal, financial and operational work in support of the merger, according to Kean University officials.
