SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Temperatures are trending upward for the start of the work week. Afternoon highs in the Valley will reach the low to mid 90s while the Foothills experiences upper 80s and afternoon temperatures in the mid 70s for the Sierra. Even warmer temperatures are forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday with many valley neighborhoods reaching upper 90s and a few seeing triple digits.

Clouds begin to increase on Wednesday as the next low pressure system approaches. Temperatures will be near normal Thursday through the weekend. Tropical moisture may even trigger showers and thunderstorms in the region Thursday through Saturday, with even a slight chance to see wet weather in the Valley on Friday.
