South Carolina’s Attorney General has issued legal guidance affirming that Clemson University’s leadership has the authority to “take corrective action” against school faculty who have come under fire for comments surrounding the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Attorney General Alan Wilson’s public letter to Clemson President Jim Clements on Sept. 15 comes ahead of a specially called Board of Trustees meeting later in the afternoon as calls become louder to fire faculty or possibly face the prospect of the school’s funding being pulled.
