Hundreds of people affected by childhood cancer had the opportunity to experience the Hawkeye Wave from inside Kinnick Stadium this weekend, thanks to the local nonprofit Why We Wave .
With the foundation's help, children who typically watch the wave from inside the hospital were able to attend a home game for free and experience the tradition from the crowd.
A total of 600 people, including staff, patients, and their families, were present at the game on Saturday.
The foundation was created by Ashley Hall and her son James, who was last week's Kid Captain.
