OMAHA, Neb. —

The City of Omaha announced Monday that it will host a 'hero's celebration' in the wake of Terence "Bud" Crawford's historic win Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Crawford became the first men's fighter to be the undisputed champion across three weight classes in the four-belt era. He beat Canelo Alvarez this weekend to win the undisputed middleweight championship.

“Omaha is so proud of Bud,” Mayor John Ewing said in a statement. “We want to show support for him and what he’s done for our city – not just representing Omaha but also sharing his success with the community and investing in young people.”

Details on the celebration are still being worked out, according to the Mayor's office, but will be announced soon.
