Longtime Mobile broadcaster and part owner of four local radio stations Charles “Tim” Camp died Saturday, Sep. 13, after spending more than five decades behind a microphone.

According to a Monday announcement from WNSP 105.5 FM, Camp held ownership stakes in 92.1 FM WZEW, 92.5 FM The Soul of Mobile, 96.5 The Crab and WNSP 105.5 FM, the country’s first 24-hour FM sports radio station. Lori Fields, a receptionist with 92.1 FM, told Lagniappe Camp celebrated his 73rd birthday on Thursday, Sep. 11.
