NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a New Bedford home was hit by a barrage of bullets over the weekend.

City police said they were called to State Street early Sunday morning and found shell casings on the ground.

No injuries were reported, but the home and a parked vehicle were damaged by the gunfire.

A 12 News crew was shown bullet holes throughout the home, including in the headboard above a bed.

The family said they were home at the time, and that bullet narrowly missed the parents.
