NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who was shot and killed over the weekend.

Alan Sanders Jr., 32, of the Summerville area, died from a gunshot wound.

Parrish Mitchell, 20, is being charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

This comes after the North Charleston Police Department was called to a report of shots fired in the 7800 block of Roxboro Road at Avalon at North Charleston Townhomes at 5:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found a man, now identified as Sanders, shot inside an apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that they are ruling this death a homicide. The incident remains under investigation.
