CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A St. Louis man is accused of trying to avoid security to enter the SEMO District Fair with a gun and ammunition.
Amirion Saffold, 22, was charged with felony second-degree burglary, felony armed criminal action and misdemeanor fourth-degree assault.
His bond was set at $50,000 cash only.
According to Patrolman Bobby Newton with the Cape Girardeau Police Department, officers were working security at the fair on Friday, September 12, when they were notified by other fair security around 9:30 p.m. of a man who entered through an unsecured gate.
They confronted the man, later identified as Saffold, about being in the event area after gates were closed, and told him they needed to search his backpack, per the SEMO District Fair policy.
