ST. LOUIS — Beverly Isom, Mayor Cara Spencer’s communications director, is leaving City Hall.
Isom, 68, who previously worked in the Atlanta mayor's office and for PR giant FleishmanHillard, confirmed her departure in a brief interview Monday. She said only that Monday was her last day and that she had decided to pursue other opportunities.
Her exit marks the second departure of a senior adviser to the mayor just five months into Spencer's term. Nancy Hawes, Spencer’s first chief of staff, left last month in what was described as a mutual separation. Casey Millburg, who had served as policy director to both Spencer and former Mayor Tishaura O. Jones, succeeded Hawes.
Spencer thanked Isom for her service in a statement Monday, saying she wished her “all the best in her future endeavor
