The RCMP is reminding e-bike riders that a helmet must be worn or you could risk getting a ticket.
Police say as school and after-school activities resume, they’re asking riders to keep safety top of mind.

Bicycle and e-bike riders must follow the Highway Traffic Act and not ride on a sidewalk, obey all traffic signs and lights, travel on the right side of the road in the same direction as traffic, signal your turns, and are required to have a front and rear lights and rear reflectors.
In terms of e-bikes, motors cannot be more powerful than 500 watts, with a top speed of 32 km/h. They also must have fully operational pedals, meaning the engine must disengage when the operators stops pedaling.
