AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - Akron Police are looking for a man suspected of shooting a 23-year-old.

According to Akron Police, officers responded to the 1500 block of South Hawkins Avenue for the shooting just after 4:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police said several people were sitting in an SUV when a fight began.

During the fight, the suspect shot the 23-year-old victim. The victim was able to get out of the car and limp away.

Two others in the car also got out of the car safely.

The suspect broke the driver’s side window of the SUV then drove from the scene, according to Akron Police.

Officers recovered the vehicle around six minutes later around East Avenue and Vernon Odom Boulevard.

Police say the suspect is a heavy-set man wearing a white t-shirt and blue pants.
