The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office Monday released the name of a man killed in a pre-dawn shooting in the Fashion District of downtown Los Angeles.

The shooting occurred around 5 a.m. Sunday in the area of 11th and Los Angeles streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

The victim, identified as 41-year-old Brian Coffin of Los Angeles, died at the scene, according to the medical examiner.

The person who notified authorities reported that his brother had been shot, according to Officer Norma Eisenman.

Six suspects wearing dark clothing were seen fleeing the location in a vehicle, according to early reports from the scene, Eisenman said.
