As the Democrat and Republican candidates for governor woo voters with promises of business development, New Jersey lawmakers are considering legislation that could make it easier for developers to get building permits.
Assemblywoman Andrea Katz, D-Burlington, proposed a bill A5896 , that would establish a state Office of Permitting and Broadband Deployment and Development Efficiency. The new office would centralize permitting and fast-track vital infrastructure projects essential for state growth.
“We hear all the time from businesses about the red tape they face when trying to obtain the permits they need for their projects to start and proceed,” Katz said. “We need to make it easier for them.”
