A Lafayette man was killed while riding his motorcycle in Frankford Sept. 14, authorities said, the second fatal motorcycle crash in Sussex County in under 24 hours.

James Harrell, 37, was traveling west on Sharp Road at 7:27 a.m. when his vehicle veered off the roadway to the right and struck a rock embankment, State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

Harrell was ejected from the bike and died as a result of his injuries, Lebron said. The crash remained under investigation as of Sept. 15.

The Frankford crash occurred less than 13 hours after a Pennsylvania man was killed in Montague when his motorcycle ran off Route 23 . That incident also remains under investigation.
