ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - Firefighters from across the Quad Cities battled a house fire Monday morning.

The Rock Island Fire Department came to the 1600 block of 14th Street for a house fire that was threatening a neighboring home at 2:43 a.m., officials said.

When crews arrived they found a hoarding situation inside the home which officials said made firefighting difficult.

Officials said the fire was contained and no one was injured during the incident.

The estimated loss in the fire is about $125,000, officials said. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced families.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Officials said the Rock Island Fire Department was assisted by the Rock Island Arsenal, East Moline, Coal Valley and Bettendorf fire departments. The Village of Coal
