BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Hundreds took to the streets of Bryan for the annual Fiestas Mexicanas Parade on Sunday, celebrating Hispanic and Latino culture.
The event, which began as Fiestas Patrias in the early 1990s, has grown into one of the city’s longest-running cultural celebrations. Organizers say it not only honors Hispanic heritage but also raises scholarship funds for local students.
“The culture, the heritage. It’s so important to Texas. It’s so important to Bryan. It’s what’s going to grow our community,” said co-organizer and former participant Erica Constancio.

Supporters say in a time when immigration and diversity are under scrutiny nationwide, the parade gives the community a chance to be
