Country star Kelsea Ballerini and actor Chase Stokes have split, a representative for Ballerini said.

The couple had been together for nearly three years , and Stokes had celebrated Ballerini's 32nd birthday on Instagram just days before Ballerini's rep confirmed their breakup to TODAY.com on Sept. 14.

"Although you keep saying you’re not excited for 32, [I'd] say I’m lookin forward to more of this," Stokes wrote in a Sept. 12 Instagram post .

"Happy birthday my love," he added, ending his caption with a heart emoji.

Ballerini's rep did not provide any details surrounding the split to TODAY.com.
