WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A McPherson day care owner has been arrested and her license suspended.

According to a court document obtained by KSN News, Kimberly Kay Horn is charged with child abuse. It is alleged that she inflicted cruel and inhuman corporal punishment upon a child under the age of 6.

On Friday, the Kansas Department of Health issued an emergency order of suspension for her day care. The owner can appeal the order.

McPherson police said they are unable to release details related to the ongoing investigation.
