FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Family and friends are remembering the woman killed by her husband in Reedley.

A vigil took place Sunday night at the site of a growing memorial at Parlier and Frankwood for 43-year-old Yesennia Rocha.

That's where police say 43-year-old Michael Rocha shot and killed his wife on September 6 in front of their family and two adult children.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says deputies tried to pull over Rocha the next day near Woodlake when he fired at them.

Following a short chase, he was struck and killed in a shootout near Road 222 and Avenue 340.

The couple was married for 25 years but separated two months ago.
