Hamilton police are investigating a death after the body of a man was found on a trail in Waterdown.

Police were called to the trail that runs behind a commercial plaza on Horseshoe Crescent, northeast of Highway 6 and Dundas Street East, around 10:30 a.m., said Const. Adam Kimber. Someone discovered the deceased elderly male while running on the trail.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine cause of death and the circumstances, including to clarify whether it is suspicious.

Police said they know the man’s identity, adding that he is not John Edwards, who has been missing from Dundas since June.
