YOUNGSTOWN A Youngstown police officer was able to return to duty uninjured after crashing into a stop sign Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Lakewood Avenue around shortly before 3 p.m. Monday.

Police on scene say the officer went too fast while turning and struck a stop sign, but was able to leave the scene unharmed.

The cruiser sustained minimal damage.
