PULLMAN — The Far South Side’s first new hotel in decades will soon break ground after years of planning.

The Chicago Plan Commission approved the development of Hampton by Hilton Hotel in Pullman, Ald. Anthony Beale (9th) announced last week.

The 62,000-square-foot, four-story hotel by the Pullman Hotel Group will be the first-ever nationally branded hotel developed in the community and the first one built south of Hyde Park in around 40 years, Beale said.

Coming to the intersection of 111th Street and Doty Avenue, the hotel will have 101 rooms, a business center, exercise room, indoor poor and a surface parking lot. It’s also expected to create 25 new jobs, per a press release sent to Block Club.
