An injured Boston Red Sox player has the opportunity to win a significant honor.
MLB announced each team’s nominee for the 2025 Roberto Clemente Award, given annually to a player who best represents the sport on and off the field. Boston’s nod went to Liam Hendriks.
It’s the sixth time Hendriks is nominated for the prestigious award. MLB.com noted that the 36-year-old is on pace to donate more than $750,000 to charitable causes this year, focused on aiding cancer research and veterans and their families.
“One of baseball’s most tireless advocates for compassion, community and change, Liam Hendriks is not just a standout player; he is a model of purpose-driven leadership who uses his platform to uplift others, champion critical causes and create lasting impact well beyond the field,” M
