JERRY Jones has explained why he made the decision to honor Charlie Kirk before Sunday's game.
Following Kirk's assassination last week, multiple NFL teams chose to honor him pregame.
Among those teams was the Dallas Cowboys , who put a message on their jumbotron ahead of the game.
Jones spoke to reporters following the game to explain his decision.
"We just all abhor violence. And it’s impacting us all," he said via The Athletic.
"And, certainly, we all stand together on any front, relative to the threat of violence.
"I was a young guy, but aware, in the '60s when we had huge violence, lost President (John F.) Kennedy and his brother and many, many others, Martin Luther King.
