Now that we're into finals season, both the action and the weather is heating up on sporting fields across the region.

The Tamworth junior hockey is no different, with its finals held across Saturday and Monday night.

Despite their youth, the players produced some thrilling games to close out their season - perhaps none more so than the under 16s boys' game between Tudors and Kiwis.

After the final horn rang with the score at 2-2, the margin remained the same even after extra time.

Ultimately, Kiwis prevailed 3-1 in the penalty shootout and the game will remain a standout for a long time to come.
