BRONX, N.Y.— Borough programs from both the CHSAA and PSAL made the trip to Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday for the Regis Invitational, where a number of team and individual performances impressed.
Fresh off their team victory at the SIHST&FA Season Opener, MSIT ’s boys made it two-for-two to start the season, winning the Varsity Boys B 4K Race by topping perennial Long Island powerhouse St. Anthony’s.
Seagulls senior Simon Saffayeh , who crossed the line first at the season opener, kept up his strong start by running 13:20.3 for fifth place—about 15 seconds slower than his previous mark, but over a much hillier 2.5-mile course at Van Cortlandt.
