Penguins' Sidney Crosby shuts down trade speculation — for now

Perhaps the hockey world was too quick to jump to the conclusion that Sidney Crosby's time with the Pittsburgh Penguins might soon be coming to an end.

It was understandable after he openly spoke about the topic, along with comments from his agent, Pat Brisson, stating that a trade one day is a possibility. Nobody in his inner circle had ever even considered the idea when asked about it in years prior.

Because of that, many had already started penciling Crosby in on the Colorado Avalanche or Montreal Canadiens in pursuit of a fourth Stanley Cup.
