A book vending machine will soon offer another incentive for people to visit one of Lubbock's libraries .

The Patterson Branch Library, 1836 Parkway Drive , will be home to a book vending machine, thanks to a donation from Atmos Energy, the city announced in a news release Friday. The machine will be full of children's books and use a token system.

People who attend library programs, including storytimes, Spanish classes and check-out items, will also be able to enter monthly drawings to win books from the machine. There will be random drawing days as well to encourage more people to come to the library.

The machine will be unveiled at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Patterson Branch Library. The public event will be followed with a reception with light refreshments in the Mildred Deo Communi
