A bear was sighted near Prettyboy Reservoir in Baltimore County on Monday by a woman, who tripped and fell, resulting in minor injuries, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

According to ALERTPAGE, a resource that monitors 911 call actions that come through on public safety radios, a woman alleged she was attacked by a bear in Parkton near the 3400 block of Beckleysville Road.

Gregg Bortz, a spokesman for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, said his agency was contacted by Baltimore County Police shortly after noon to notify them that a Baltimore City Department of Public Works employee encountered a black bear while working near Prettyboy Reservoir. According to Bortz, the startled bear bluff charged the individual a few times.
