One person was killed in a three-car crash Monday morning in an industrial area near Newark Liberty International Airport.

The crash occurred about 8 a.m. near the intersection of Frelinghuysen Avenue and Foster Street, about three miles from the airport.

“We are investigating a three-car crash that resulted in a fatality,” a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said in an email.

No information was available as to whether others were hurt, or if investigators had determined a possible cause of the crash.

The victim’s name was not released, and the prosecutor’s office said no further information was available as of early Monday.
