Rural King employees had to briefly evacuate their store Monday afternoon after some smoke was seen coming from a condenser motor inside the store.

Butler city, Butler and Center township and Unionville fire departments responded to Rural King shortly after 4 p.m.

“There was a frozen condenser motor in the back of the store that caused some smoke, nothing major,” Unionville chief Michael Pflugh said.

Firefighters were seen on the roof of the buildingmaking sure there was not any damage beyond the smoke.

Employees were able to go back into the store about a half hour after being evacuated.
