A Jefferson County jury has decided the fate of a Pell City man convicted in a 2023 double Birmingham murder in his grandmother’s South East Lake home.

The jury, who on Friday convicted 31-year-old Daniel “Parker” Watson of capital murder, deliberated about an hour Monday before sentencing him to death. The jury vote was 11-1 in favor of execution.

Watson was found guilty in the shooting deaths of Tiffany Michele Hernandez and Jason Joseph Brown, both 40.

Watson still faces charge of capital murder and murder in a double shooting in St. Clair County that happened shortly after the Birmingham murders.

Killed in Ragland were Amber Manning, 37, and Timothy Davidson, 62.

Watson’s trial began six days ago before Circuit Judge Shanta Owens after two days of jury selection.
