Southwest Airlines is updating its policy regarding lithium-powered batteries following a warning from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) about potential fire hazards.

In 10 days, passengers will be required to remove batteries from mobility devices, such as wheelchairs, before checking them. These batteries must be carried into the cabin to ensure safety during the flight.
