Over its 40-year-plus history, there have been several Terry Fox Run organizers in Cornwall.

Regardless of when they stopped leading the effort, all of them remain caretakers of Fox’s dream to beat cancer. That was evident as current co-ordinator Ian Callan had four of his predecessors alongside him Sunday morning at the Lions Bandshell: founder Bob Nicholls, his son Chris, Tina Watters, and Josee Sauve, who is again the top fundraiser ($5,432).

“He’s carrying the torch,” Bob Nicholls said of Callan.

“Being a part of this, it’s something so much greater than ourselves,” responded Callan.
