SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Gov. JB Pritzker made an announcement on Monday to help out several Illinois counties in the wake of severe weather.
The severe storm chain across Boone, Cook, Kane, McHenry, and Will Counties from Aug. 16-19 caused major flooding, significant property damage, large-scale power outages, and blocked roadways. Homeowners, businesses, and local governments all felt the effects.
Pritzker issued a state disaster proclamation on Monday. The proclamation directs state resources to support both local response and long-term recovery.
