WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) - As the now-severe drought worsens across our region, the state is asking Vermonters to report problems . Water woes are also on the minds of leaders in many cities and towns, too.
The water pump in Wilder can pull up to 1,000 gallons of water a minute. But only four of the six tanks at this filtration facility are needed to keep up with Hartford’s overall demand.
“We are actually paying attention to our drawdowns on our well and stuff,” said Jeremy Delisle of the Hartford Public Works Department.
The added attention comes as dry conditions worsen across the region. Brown fields and fire danger signs abound.
However, the levels at the municipal wells in Hatford are holding strong, which means the town has not yet had to impose any use restrictions li
