PITTSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Chatham County judge denied bond reduction for the woman being charged in the death of a young girl after the deadly Harris Lake accident .

AnneMarie Flanigan's attorney, Joshua Xerri, made a motion to reduce her bond from $1 million to $500,000. Flanigan's boyfriend, Quinten Kight, was operating the boat that day, and authorities said he appeared to be looking at his phone moments before the accident .

Xerri stated that Flanigan is a combat nurse who recently retired from the U.S. Army. She has a 19-year-old son who has autism and is in desperate need of her support.
