CLEVELAND (WJW) - Video released to the FOX 8 I-Team shows the moment an Ohio State Highway Patrol state trooper shot a fleeing robbery suspect, who was armed with a gun.

The suspect was shot in the leg.

The incident happened last month and led to an order to shelter in place at Case Western Reserve University.

The trooper tried to make a traffic stop but the suspect fled. A state patrol chopper captured the driver speeding through heavy traffic, even driving on the wrong side of road. The suspect stopped the vehicle, and he and passenger both got out. The two were then caught on video from the helicopter trying to carjack another vehicle.

The male suspect is also seen trying to approach a second vehicle.

"He's got a gun with him, just be advised," a trooper can be heard saying on the
