JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - Only a few weeks into her recovery, 51-year-old Ginger Gibbs said she’s feeling lucky to be alive, but the violent attack she endured on Aug. 28 has changed her life forever.
“He passed me, and he was going really slow, so then I turned to go past him,” Gibbs said, trying to recall the still-fuzzy details of that day. “Then, as my passenger window passed him, I felt something hit me in the back of the head.”
That’s when Gibbs said her vision went dark and she drove into the highway median on I-96. Though conscious enough to call 911, she didn’t fully understand what happened until she woke up in a Lansing hospital.
