GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A recent hit-and-run at the Community Food Bank of Grand Junction has left the organization looking for ways to rebuild.

On Sept. 4, the food bank's community garden was destroyed by a hit-and-run. No one was injured in the incident.

"We had a pedestrian drive around the corner and wreck through this entire garden project," said Jessica Mays, development director for the food bank. "Unfortunately, too, that person fled. So there was no accountability taken, which is also really heavy for the community food bank."

The garden, funded by donors and community partnerships, was going to be part of the food bank's enrichment programming.
