PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - Two mountain lions were spotted in the Perryville area early Monday morning.
That’s according to Captain Ryan Worthington with the Perryville Police Department.
Worthington said the pair was seen on drone video using thermal imaging early September 15 between Legion Lake and Interstate 55.
The Missouri Department of Conservation confirmed the animals in the video were mountain lions and that one had also been spotted along the east side of I-55 this past Friday, just south of the Perryville exit.
Worthington said the likelihood that the mountain lions will stay in the area for long is slim.
Anyone who lives near this area or uses the Legion Lake bike trails is asked to use caution.
