KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Kershaw County leaders are one step closer to finalizing a comprehensive plan that will shape how the community grows and develops over the next two decades.
At their most recent meeting, County Council gave the plan its first reading. The proposal still needs two more votes before it can be fully adopted, a process that could wrap up in October.
“This should be the document that guides all the rules from here on out when it comes to how our county grows in economic development and transportation,” said Councilman Derek Shoemake.
The comprehensive plan is broken down into three main focus areas:
Land use and development
Housing and housing availability
Transportation and economic development
