Student attendance during the first 10 days of the Pasadena Unified School District school year dropped slightly from the same time period last year, but district officials called the numbers encouraging given the 2025-26 year taking place amid the ongoing threat of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids .

According to Julianne Reynoso, assistant superintendent of student wellness and support services, the overall attendance rate to start this school year was 96.03% compared to 96.21% for the same time last year.

After high enrollment during summer school but dips in attendance at some sites, the district was in wait-and-see mode over whether those trends would continue during the regular school year.
