BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Members of the Bangor City Council held a special meeting to appoint a new chair, almost a week after Cara Pelletier stepped down with two months left in her term.

With a five to two vote, the council appointed Richard Fournier.

Fournier told WABI his prior experience as a councilor chair will help him succeed in the role.
