There’s a chance Carson Wentz will square off against the Philadelphia Eagles next month.

Wentz, the Eagles’ former franchise quarterback, is in line to start for the Vikings after Minnesota starter J.J. McCarthy suffered an injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter .

McCarthy is expected to be sidelined two to four weeks after picking up a high-ankle sprain in the Vikings’ Sunday night loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Jalen Hurts and the defending Super Bowl champions are scheduled to face the Vikings on Oct. 19 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

If McCarthy doesn’t have a swift recovery, it’s possible Wentz and Hurts will face off.
