CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - While federal data is showing more mothers are opting out of the workforce due to the cost of childcare , one local daycare is still seeing growth.

At Fields of Fun Child Care, classrooms are full. Director Haley Hollan says they have about 150 kids in the summer months and around 100 kids during the rest of the year - both numbers up from when she started.

“We have infant through preschool here at the daycare. Obviously it is daycare but we like to do lots of learning so we have curriculum as creativity here as well,” said Hollan.

Even though the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows more moms are opting out of work due, in part, to the high cost of care, this daycare says it tries to keep costs affordable.
